Next year's vote on new transportations projects could help or harm our environment

Background

Our environment and our wallets are in trouble. Decades of inaction on transportation in Metro Atlanta has led to fewer options for commuters and more congestion on the roads. The more we drive, the more gas we use, driving up costs and damaging air quality. This year, we can start to change all of that.

Atlanta Regional Roundtable

I am writing today to urge the Regional Transportation Roundtable to vote on transportation projects that give commuters options. To attain these results, the sales tax must be used to fund mass transit, pedestrian and bicycle projects.

It is very important to the health of our economy and community that the projects be environmentally sound, and increase choices available to commuters.
